The Holsteiner Verband has parted company with the ten-year-old Corfu de la Vie. He is to pave the way for a Romanian junior into the big sport.

Accordingly, the former Verband stallion Corfu de la Vie will be ridden by Mara Elena Constantinescu in future. The 17-year-old has competed internationally in jumping competitions up to 1.40 meters and was part of the team that won bronze at the FEI Balkan Junior Championships in 2024. As you can see from her Instagram stories, Corfu de la Vie has already arrived safe and sound in snow-covered Romania and is settling in.

About Corfu de la Vie

Corfu de la Vie is a son of Jos Lansink’s world champion Cumano out of the Lord-Romino-Sacramento Song xx dam, who also produced Hansi Dreher’s also licensed and 1.60 meter successful Colore by Contender. Corfu de la Vie also has a licensed half-brother of the same age – embryo transfer makes it possible – by Baloubet du Rouet, who competes in jumping competitions up to 1.30 meters under the name Baltic de la Vie. The breeder of both horses is the Belgian Eric Goossen from Haras de la Vie.

Corfu de la Vie’s further life led him to Germany. He was licensed by the Holsteiner Verband in 2018 and also placed here. The fact that he goes back to Capitol on his sire’s side and also carries hardly any Cor de la Bryère blood on his dam’s side will certainly have contributed to this.

As a three-year-old, Corfu de la Vie passed his 14-day test in Schlieckau with an overall score of 7.58 (dressage 6.95, jumping 7.83). As a four and five-year-old, he competed in the sport test and finished both with “good” results: 8.38 and 8.36. In competition, he gained age-appropriate experience and placings in tests for young show jumpers. With Lucas Wenz in the saddle, he recently jumped up to 1.45 meters.
