Suddenly there were three - at the DSP Stallion Days there were three winning stallions in two main disciplines. In addition to the jumping winner by Heartbreaker, two dressage winning stallions, sons of Sir Donnerhall and Feliciano, were singled out. A total of 52 stallions were licensed.

The DSP Stallion Days 2026 in Munich Riem came up with a novelty. Three winning stallions were selected from the 92 stallions entered. There was a solitaire in show jumping and a double in dressage. The genetic diversity was reflected in the licensing judgments. In the jumping premium lot, the eleven award-winning hopefuls came from four major stallion lines. In dressage, the nine DSP premium stallions could be traced back to seven line founders, if one considers the Furioso II and Ferro lines separately in the case of the thoroughbred Furioso xx.

DSP Stallion Days 2026 Dressage: Champion stallions in a double pack

In the dressage division, 28 stallions were licensed, nine of which received a premium. Three stallions were asked to enter the “final ring”. From the trio, two stallions were then declared champions. A Feliciano son bred by Martin Niedermair and a Westphalian-born (breeder: Erich Trogemann) chestnut by Sir Heinrich.

The bay by Feliciano-San Amour can point to illustrious relatives. His granddam by Lanciano-Raueck is a full sister to the multiple Bundeschampion and up to Grand Prix successful Bavarian Lord Sinclair. The winner, who has a large shoulder section, has already been the talk of the town: As an auction foal, he was purchased by Ida Vávriková from the Czech Republic at the DSP Auction in Sauerlach in 2023. For an impressive 30,000 euros.

Jörg Schröter, responsible for dressage on the licensing committee, commented on the beautifully shaped bay as follows: “So many possibilities, this is almost the optimum. A dream horse. A great eye, a horse that moves super light-footed and as if on springs. Certainly his highlight on the lunge line, where you could see the immense possibilities of how much weight-bearing and carrying power this horse can develop. How far he can catapult himself upwards.” The other things that impressed the team: the interior, the balance.

Sir Heinrich son – Champion stallion made by Sandro Hit

The second winning stallion impressed with his rhythm. A chestnut who always started upwards and presented himself in self-carriage and rhythm where others were hurried in their movements. The chestnut stallion is registered in Westphalia and comes from an originally Hanoverian dam line. The dam descends from Don Juan de Hus.

Schröter praised the body parts and “incredibly big lines”. “A horse whose basic gaits were completely convincing in all areas – so much elegance, so much light-footedness.” He also emphasized the presentation on the lunge line: “Super nice in the contact, super nice uphill. There is nothing that this horse would not fulfill.” It has been a long time since the old master Sandro Hit has appeared with a champion stallion.

The third in the group was not for sale. A striking chestnut stallion with a cheeky face who goes back to Zack (great-grandfather) via his sire Juwel. The Hanoverian stallion, one of three in the premium lot, impressed with, among other things, his dynamic ride. He was named reserve champion stallion.

Five lines in the premium lot

The six other premium stallions came from five lines. A wiry chestnut by Dutch Dream-Benicio, whose dam was the former Bundeschampioness Baroness Bibi, represented Ladykiller xx (via Vivaldi). Escolar was represented by a great-grandson of Energy -Sezuan with striking hind leg activity. The Jazz branch of the Furioso II line shone through with a supple Global Player-Floriscount son. Totilas was represented in the lot by a bay by Total Hope-Feenkönig xx, whose dam is a half-sister to the Grand Prix horse Oldi by Swagman. Finally, in addition to the reserve winner, there were two other Ferro offspring, a bay by Fusionist-Brentano II and a long-legged Zackerey-Fürst Heinrich offspring. The associations DSP, Hanover and Westphalia were represented in the premium lot with three representatives each.

Show jumping: Olympic champion Hickstead presents winner at DSP Stallion Days 2026

The OS mare Diarada by Diarado-Argentinus-Ramiro Z already has several licensed sons to her name. But there has not yet been a champion stallion among them. That is no longer the case. With the wiry Hickstead son of the mare, who is successful in show jumping herself, the licensing committee placed a wiry stallion at the top of the eleven award-winning candidates for the show jumping course. The bay (breeder: Uwe Eberhardt) was very good with his body. He combined so many positive attributes that Andy Witzemann, jumping expert on the licensing committee, made it short and sweet in his laudation. “An incredible horse, an exceptional horse blessed with all the qualities we are looking for. A flowery heartbreaker, long-legged – a complete stallion”.

Internationally proven genes

A total of 24 stallions received a positive approval rating in the show jumping segment. Five of the stallions in the “council of eleven” of the award-winning show jumping aspirants went back to Cor de la Bryère, three times the French stallion Diamant de Semilly was present as the founder of the line, two went back to Lucky Boy xx, who was popular in the Netherlands in the 1970s. And the winner by Heartbreaker represents the Farn line, which has its origins in Holstein.

The reserve winner represented the famous Holstein line 318, more precisely 318D2 (Diarado, Corofino …). In type he could not deny his sire Million Dollar, even though he was less colorful than other offspring of the Belgian. The stallion seemed to have ordered fortune three times. “Tremendous jumping, not far from perfection. A horse that can get a 10,” analyzed Andy Witzemann.

The second reserve winner brought international blood from both his sire and dam’s side: the bay is by Balou du Reventon, who trades as a breeding stallion under the name Cornet’s Balou. Olympic team champion Harry Charles and previously Brian Mogre rode this stallion over the most difficult courses in the world. The dam line is also responsible for the legendary For Pleasure. Andy Witzemann: “A fairly complete athlete and stallion with a great overview, all ability at the jump, yet light on his feet”.

With direct sons of Chacco-Blue, Cornet Obolensky, Emerald and Diamant de Semilly, among others, many big names were listed as sires of the premium stallions in the licensing catalog.

The stallions for sale will go into the auction at 3 pm.
