In addition to management and marketing management, he is now also responsible for breeding management at the Baden-Württemberg Horse Breeding Association. This was announced today by the association in a press release. This is an interim solution. Meanwhile, the application process for the breeding director position at the state of Baden-Württemberg continues.
Norbert Freistedt is not the only managing director of the association who also has to keep an eye on breeding developments. This also applies to the team in Westphalia. Or to the Holsteiner Verband. For Freistedt, the tasks of the breeding director (including advising breeders) are familiar territory. He was already head of breeding at the Horse Breeding Association of Saxony-Thuringia.
It has become necessary to fill the position because Dr. Carina Krumbiegel, head of the Warmblood and Old Württemberg divisions, and Manfred Weber, responsible for the other breeds, have resigned. Manfred Weber has retired and Dr. Carina Krumbiegel has held a new post since the beginning of the year. She is now Deputy Head of Department 26 (Animal Breeding, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Immission Control) at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection (MLR) in Stuttgart.
