The chestnut mare, bred by Axel Windeler, was subsequently sold for 550,000 euros at the Westphalia Auction to the Portuguese rider Thiago Montavoni, who entrusted her to Maxi-Kira von Platen for further training.
Last year, they were only seen in public once. At the auction tournament at Klosterhof Medingen in September, they took part in a novice class dressage test for young horses and won with a score of 8.7.
Today they had their second show appearance in Elmlohe. The program there included the Bundeschampionat qualifiers for five and seven-year-old dressage horses. Maxi von Platen and Señorita La Bonita now have plenty of time to prepare for their performance in September. With a final score of 8.26, they will be there when the next titles are awarded in the fall. The mare received a 9 for trot from judges Uta Riemann, Klaus Storbeck and Heinz-Holger Lammers, an 8.4 for canter, a 7.4 for walk, 8.0 for scope and 8.5 for overall impression.
Victory for Bundeschampionat bronze medal winner
However, Señorita La Bonita was not the horse with the highest score in Elmlohe. That was the bronze medal winner in the four-year-old mares and geldings class in Warendorf last year, DSP Lord Löwenherz by Bellin with Ellen Richter in the saddle.
The black stallion is a son of the Grand Prix stallion Lord Europe by Ellen Richter’s sister Leonie out of a United dam. The breeder and owner is Bellin Stud. DSP Lord Löwenherz by Bellin and Ellen Richter came second twice this year in dressage horse L, today they won with a score of 8.32. The individual scores: Trot 8.6, walk 7.8, canter 8.5, scope 8.2, general impression 8.5.
Two more horses achieved the required 8.0 or better for the ticket to Warendorf. One was the Vitalis-Fürstenball son Vanelli by Annabella Pidgley (breeder: Dr. Rolf-Peter Schulze, 8.2), presented by Ellen’s sister Leonie. The second was Total PS by Totilas-Dante Weltino, presented by Isabel Freese, bred by Gestüt Lewitz and owned by Paul Schockemöhle, who scored 8.14.
Both horses are allowed to represent the Oldenburg Verband in Warendorf.
Further results
Leonie Richter will continue to be one of the busiest riders at the Bundeschampionat after the end of her work for Helgstrand. She was also able to achieve the required 73 percent for the Bundeschampionat qualification in the seven-year-old class with one horse: the Oldenburg mare Noble Secret by Secret-Sunny Boy (breeder: Jürgen Osterloh), which she presents for Bernadette Brune. 73.08 percent for the technical execution of the lessons in the advanced (S) level test for young dressage horses and 83.4 percent for the quality of the basic gaits etc. added up to a total of 78.240 percent.
Noble Secret is already familiar with the Warendorf arena. Last year, she was presented there by Emma Agne, qualified for the final as the winner of the small final and finished in 13th place.
Ellen Richter and the Oldenburg gelding Found Gody PS by Foundation-Vitalis, bred and owned by Gestüt Lewitz, will also be competing in Warendorf. Here they scored 73.025 percent, which was calculated from 68.85 percent for technique and 77.2 percent for quality. Found Gody also competed in Warendorf last year. Back then, he and Ellen finished 14th, whereas the year before they came 13th.
