At least for this year, the German tournaments sponsored by Al Shira'aa Stables can breathe a sigh of relief. The bills have been paid. This has been reported by both Pferdesport Deutschland and the Turnier der Sieger.

For weeks, the failure of Al Shira’aa Stables to make payments for the German Jumping Derby in Hamburg, the Bundeschampionat, and the Tournament of Champions, as well as the unavailability of the contractual partners, had been a topic of concern. The FN stated that it was considering legal action should the agreed-upon amount for the Bundeschampionat not be paid.

FN: Al Shira’aa bill paid, future still unclear

Pferdesport Deutschland can apparently save on these legal fees now. In any case, the umbrella organization announced today that the bill—which, according to information from the Süddeutsche Zeitung, amounted to 200,000 euros—has been paid and that the contractual agreements have thus been fulfilled.

Dr. Dennis Peiler: “We are pleased that the outstanding amount has now been transferred and that this matter has been resolved. Al Shira’aa has been supporting the National Championships since 2025. We greatly appreciate this commitment.”

Whether—and if so, how—this partnership will continue, however, remains to be seen. The contract actually runs through 2027. According to the FN: “As part of its strategic realignment, Al Shira’aa Stables is considering the future structure of the partnership. Pferdesport Deutschland is in close communication with its partner. A corresponding proposal is to be submitted by the end of November.”

was also still waiting for Al Shira’aa to fulfill its contractual obligations, and according to Nina Eilert, the executive assistant, this has now been done. Here, too, it remains unclear how the partnership will proceed. The contract between Al Shira’aa and the Tournament of Champions is actually valid through 2030.

As for the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg, there is no information available at this time.
