Ping Pong van de Lentamel, from Gerrit Nieberg to Denis Lynch

The striking piebald Ping Pong van de Lentamel was the horse that helped Gerrit Nieberg return to the world’s elite after his 2022 Aachen winner, Ben, was sold to the U.S. and Blues d’Aveline was transferred to Max Kühner. Among other achievements, Nieberg and the 11-year-old Belgian son of Emerald van’t Ruytershof won the 2025 Global Champions Tour show jumping competition in Riesenbeck. Blues d’Aveline has since returned to Gut Berl. In exchange, Ping Pong van de Lentamel has left the Münsterland region for the Netherlands.

As Denis Lynch posted on his Instagram page, Ping Pong has now moved into a stall at his stable. The gelding previously belonged to Karin Ernsting’s “European Youngsters” stable, with whom Gerrit Nieberg has long worked closely. The mare IB Queen is also a joint project between the two. However, as Lynch reports, Ping Pong now has a new owner: Marina Quasha, conductor and general music director of the German Romantic Orchestra. In addition to her work in classical music, she rides and is being trained by Lynch.

Ping Pong van de Lentamel competed in his last tournament in Leipzig in January. There, he placed third in the World Cup show jumping event. Since then, he has had to take a break due to injury. Along with the announcement of the move to his stable, Lynch posted a photo showing two bowls full of apples, carrots, and watermelons to help sweeten the move for the gelding and the Irish show jumper.
