No tournament debut for Dancier Gold in Brunnthal after all, but Feliciana BB and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl did qualify for the National Championships.

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl had considered making her new horse, Dancier Gold, his competition debut at the Upper Bavarian Championships in Brunnthal, but wanted to make that decision based on the weather and her starting time. She was not on the starting list for the Intermédiaire A class, for which she had entered and which began at 5:15 p.m. However, she did ride in Brunnthal today.

That morning, she made her tournament debut with another horse from her stable, the seven-year-old Feliciana BB, in the Class S dressage competition, which also served as a qualifier for the National Championships. Under the judging procedure specified in § 353 C LPO, horses must score at least 73 percent ( Two judges: one evaluates the horse’s gait and posture as a dressage horse, while the other assesses the technical execution of the movements; the average score is calculated from their evaluations. Editor’s note. ) to prove herself worthy of representing Warendorf. Feliciana managed that with ease.

In both categories, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and her seven-year-old Hanoverian mare received the highest scores: 71.540 percent for technical execution and 84.8 percent for basic gaits and prospect. This resulted in an average score of 78.170 percent.

Two More Qualifiers for the National Championship

Two more horses qualified for a performance in Warendorf, both presented by Ines Fleischmann. One was the now-retired but once-approved Oldenburg stallion Gut Wettlkam’s Delney by D’Avie-Dimaggio, bred by Christin Boekhoff and owned by Thomas Müller (69.230, 79.80/74.515); and the other was the Hanoverian stallion Top Score by Top Gear Fürst Romancier, bred by ZG von Holten (67.690, 80.20/73.945).

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl’s brother Benjamin had actually also entered his young horses in Brunnthal, but he, too, decided not to compete.

About Feliciana BB

Feliciana BB is a daughter of Follow Him’s Schönweide and closely related to Ferdinand BB, Bredow-Werndl’s former Louisdor Prize finalist. Like him, Feliciana was bred by Bernhard Sieverding. Feliciana’s dam, Beniciana by Benicia, is a half-sister to Ferdinand BB. Both are by the Rhineland-bred Lanciano-Bolero dam La Corunia.

Feliciana BB came into the ownership of the Aubenhausen dressage stable at the age of five, but was initially competed by Raphael Netz—who was then still a staff rider for the Werndls—and Adrian Muñoz Jurado. With the latter, she qualified for the Bundeschampionat last year and placed 15th in the final (7.6).

Since March of this year, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl’s longtime patron and friend, Beatrice Bürchler-Keller, has also been listed as an owner, and Feliciana now has “BB” in her name.
