Clear decision in the Bedizzole Grand Prix
Superior Grand Prix victory for Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Kismet

They were the only pair in the test to consistently receive scores above 70 percent, in some cases significantly so. The scores ranged from 70.761 (for B) to 76.739 percent (for C). This resulted in a total of 73.804 percent in the pair’s second Grand Prix. Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide individual scores, as the organizer states on its website that it is no longer allowed to publish protocols at the request of the FEI. We have asked the FEI for a statement.
A whole scoop on top
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl had taken over the now eleven-year-old Ampere daughter Kismet from Charlotte Dujardin. The KWPN mare was already highly successful with the British rider in the small tour, winning Prix St. Georges and Intermédiaire I at the CHIO Aachen in 2023, among others. Last year, she competed in her first advanced (S***) level competitions with Jessica von Bredow-Werndl. Four weeks ago, they competed in a Grand Prix for the first time in Ornago and then also in the Grand Prix Special.
After a Grand Prix in which small mistakes crept in and a costly misunderstanding on the last center line, a Grand Prix Special debut made to measure followed: a clear victory with 73.234 percent.
Today they scored 73.804 percent in the Grand Prix (in which fewer points are usually awarded than in the Special), which was a whole league higher. And a whole league higher compared to the first Grand Prix in Ornago, which they finished with 66.261 percent.
The other winners
A clear second place (68.283 percent) went to the Swiss rider Charlotte Lenherr in the saddle on the twelve-year-old Rhinelander Gentleman by Grey Flanell. Third place went to the Austrian Christian Schumach in the saddle on the Oldenburg Dedale de Hus, 14.
The Don Juan de Hus son bred by Xavier Marie, France, won the 2021 Louisdor Prize qualifier in Hagen with Malin Wahlkamp-Nilsson. He did not take part there. In 2023, he was then sold to the Austrian Franziska Fries, who had previously shown him herself. However, as she had to take a break after a snorkeling accident on vacation, her trainer Christian Schumach kept her horses fit, as the Austrian portal eqwo.net reported. Bedizzole is the Olympic rider’s fourth show with Dedale de Hus and they set a personal record with 68 percent.
The two horses placed behind her are also well known on the German show circuit: The eleven-year-old black mare Santa Maria, who was brought into Grand Prix sport by Nicole Wego-Engelmeyer and is now presented by her new owner Delia Eggenberger (67.496), and the San Amour son Sunny Time, who was presented by Bettina Schockemöhle before Franziska Fries took over the reins. Fries demonstrated that she has recovered from her accident today with 67.170 percent.
Katrin Burger and her Lusitano Incrivel also achieved a top ten placing in the field of 20 pairs: tenth place with 65.261 percent.
