Only six stallions were presented at the KWPN stallion performance test in the spring. All six achieved the class target.

Five jumping stallions and one with a focus on dressage have now been approved for breeding for the Royal Dutch Warmblood KWPN. They were tested for 21 days in Ermelo, Saturday was the final day.

Jumping stallions

Three four-year-old and two six-year-old show jumping stallions presented themselves to the Dutch judges in Ermelo on Saturday.

Among the newcomers to the Dutch breeding program is a Holsteiner stallion, namely the six-year-old Unions Way by United Way-Casall bred by Ute Carstensen-Möller in Langstedt. Stal Horn presented him in Ermelo. There he was attested a cooperative and willing to perform character, plenty of impression at the jump, caution and excellent reflexes.

Number two among the six-year-olds was Panthero van de Watermolen by Lativ V S-Cancara (breeder: Levent Dutkun, J. Mulder), presented by Jan Greve in Ermelo. The stallion is a half-brother of EIC Julius Caesar, who was successful under Max Kühner up to 1.60 meters. He is also characterized by his willingness to work, uses his body well and jumps with a good overview.

Four-year-olds

At the 2025 KWPN licensing, Santiago VDL by Eldorado vd Zeshoek-Kashmir van Schuttershof (breeder: ZG Henstra) was named reserve champion. During his performance test, the judges praised his caution, good ability and uncomplicated character.

Sky Fall is the name of the Chacco-Blue-Diamant de Semilly son bred and owned by Dutch head trainer Wout-Jan van der Schans together with Jana Khayat. The youngster from the Jaguar Mail line stood out in particular for his rideability, the use of his body and his athleticism, according to the judges.

Symphograaf is the name of the third of the four-year-olds, a son of Pegase van’t Ruytershof and thus a Comme il faut heir out of a Vigaro dam (breeder: Peter Maat, rider: Stal Broek). The granddam was victorious in World Cup show jumping and Grand Prix competitions. Her grandson was characterized on the one hand by his ability and on the other by his good canter and riding comfort. The canter has also become more light-footed.

Only one dressage stallion

Only one dressage stallion had been entered, Sir Vegas by Las Vegas-De Niro, bred by Frans Vaessen and exhibited by Joop van Uytert. He can be pleased with a four-year-old stallion who, according to the judges at Bart Bax, is already generously developed, has a good attitude and has made significant progress over the course of the 21 days. He is characterized by an expansive walk, light-footed trot and an easy-to-regulate canter.
