Three title winners will be competing there for Germany. Firstly, there is André Thieme, the 2021 European Champion, who will be riding alongside the current European Champion Richard Vogel, Olympic Champion Christian Kukuk and René Dittmer.
The competition
France won the first leg in Abu Dhabi ahead of Germany. Now team boss Edouard Coupérie is relying on three experienced Nations Cup riders with Kevin Staut, Olivier Robert and the best Amazon in the world at the moment, Nina Mallevaey, as well as Marie Demonte, for whom it will be her first appearance in the League of Nations.
Robert Ridland is relying on Lillie Keenan, Laura Kraut, Aaron Vale and McLain Ward for the hosts USA .
Jessica Kürten recently became Ireland’shead of equestrian sport. For Ocala, she relies on the experience of Bertram Allen, Cian O’Connor, Shane Sweetnam and Tom Wachman.
Brazil had a real run in Abu Dhabi. Not only did the team finish third, Luciana Diniz also won the Grand Prix. However, she will not be competing in Ocala. Instead, Pedro Paulo Lacerda will be joined by Olympic and three-time World Cup winner Rodrigo Pessoa, Pedro Junqueira Muylaert and debutants Stephanie Macieira and Eduardo Pereira de Menezes.
After failing to make it through to round two in Abu Dhabi, the Netherlands have some catching up to do. To put everything back into perspective, team boss Wout Jan van der Schans has named Kevin Jochems and Sanne Thijssen, two riders who already have experience in the series, as well as Michael Greeve and Jelmer Hoekstra, for whom Ocala will be their LLN debut.
Dominik Fuhrer and Beat Mändli make their LLN debut for Switzerland, Edouard Schmitz and Barbara Schnieper complete Peter van der Waaij’s line-up.
Last year’s LLN overall winners, Olympic team champions and European Championship silver medallists Great Britain , led by experienced team manager Di Lampard, will be represented by Donald and Jack Whitaker together with Jessica Mendoza and Joseph Stockdale.
Italy has been part of the series, which was founded in 2024, since 2025, and Piergiorgio Bucci has been riding in the team for just as long – including in Ocala. This time together with Emanuele Camilli, Riccardo Pisani and Giacomo Casadei.
Peter Weinberg’s Belgians are always good for a win. Nicola Philippaerts already secured the Grand Prix in Ocala last weekend. He has already proven his good form and Emilie Conter, Roy Van Beek and Annelies Vorsselmans are hoping for the same.
Points distribution
Since the first LLN stage in Abu Dhabi, logically nothing has changed in the points distribution. France is the winner with 100 points, ahead of Germany (90) and Brazil (80). They are followed by Switzerland (70), Ireland (60), GBR (55), USA (50), Italy (45), Belgium (40) and the Netherlands (35).
