Indoor derby Neumünster

Paula de Boer-Schwarz and Ingrid Klimke – two riders who are at home in all saddles.

This morning, Ingrid Klimke, the two-time Olympic team champion and European eventing champion, was fourth in the Prix St. Georges with the Swedish stallion Oneofakind OM by Total Hope (in the superior victory of Burg Cup finalist Alvarinho with Laura Strobel, 72.598 percent) after a 70 percent ride. In the early evening today, the Indoor Derby in memory of Dr. Karl Blobel was no longer about percentages, but about faults and time.

The riding champion had brought her best bush horse at the moment, the 14-year-old Westphalian mare Siena just do it, to Neumünster for the medium (M*) level two-phase show jumping competition over natural obstacles. Siena did as she was told, made it easy and was both clear and lightning fast with a time of 33.67 seconds in phase two.

Versatile winner with a versatile horse

Nevertheless, this was not enough to break the record that Paula de Boer-Schwarz and her nine-year-old Holsteiner gelding Semian had set in the Holstenhalle a few minutes earlier: 33.31 seconds. This meant victory for Paula and her Sezuan son with Hotline dam and Holsteiner lineage behind him. Incidentally, Semian is just as versatile as his rider, who rides dressage up to Grand Prix level, show jumping at international five-star level and eventing up to CCI2*. Semian is her partner for the latter, and he also competes in dressage and show jumping up to medium (M) level.

Third place went to Rebecca-Juana Gerken with Fame, followed by Heike Jahncke on Quibelle and Mathies Rüder with Hjoptimus.
