Test passed – four new stallions for the Danish Warmblood

The class target in Denmark is an average score of 8.0 or 800 points. Whether stallions with 750 to 800 points are approved for breeding is at the discretion of the breeding management. Those stallions that have a future as breeding stallions and have not yet been licensed are inspected once again on hard ground and under the rider at the large stallion licensing in Herning before they are approved for breeding and, if applicable, receive a premium.
The test candidates
Last year, the Hanoverian 2 million stallion Daan G. was the best in the test with over 900 points. This year’s class leader also comes from the Helgstrand stables, but this time it is a KWPN stallion: the four-year-old Souverain by Sezuan-Stedinger-Dream of Glory. Although he is registered with the KWPN, he has a Hanoverian dam line that has repeatedly produced licensed stallions in past generations. Souverain scored 869 points and had no score below 8.5.
Invictus Iwe (breeder: Iwe Horses, Iben W. Deleuran), who was awarded a prize at the Danish licensing in 2025, was the second best youngster with 827 points, followed by another Helgstrand stallion, this time from Germany: Zake by Zoom, who was awarded 814 points.
The Westphalian is a full brother to the now seven-year-old gelding Zauberprinz, who won silver at the Westphalian Championships as a three-year-old under Wibke Hartmann-Stommel and took fifth place at the Bundeschampionat. A half-brother of both horses is the champion stallion of the 2023 Westphalian licensing, Dark Dynamic by Dream Boy.
The fourth stallion was unable to take part in the final inspection by external rider Allan Grøn. It was the only non-Helgstrand stallion, an Oldenburg named First Magic from the direct line of the Grand Prix stallion Sieger Hit by Sandro Hit and his also licensed and with Kira Wulferding S-successful full brother Silver Black OLD. HP Horses ApS is the breeder and owner of the For Romance son (dam by Desperado), who had contracted a hoof ulcer. However, as Grøn had already been able to get an impression of the riding feeling during the intermediate test, the score at that time was included in the evaluation. First Magic scored 762 points and is therefore a “case” for the breeding management’s decision.
