Eleven riding horses were entered for the 2026 ZfdP Winter Licensing in Darmstadt-Kranichstein, three were not presented, all others were licensed. Two top athletes provided the winning stallions.

The ZfdP licensing committee singled out Erling Haarland, whose type is clearly stamped by his sire Escolar, as the winner of the dressage stallions. The dam, Fabulous Fee by Santano-Wolkentanz II-Donnerhall, had previously produced the licensed and award-winning three-time Bundeschampionat participant and now S-successful Robert Downey Jr. by Real Grandios, his also licensed and award-winning full brother Robert de Niro Jr., who is stationed at Warendorf State Stud, as well as the also licensed Alan Greenspan V by Apollon.

The breeder and owner is Frederik Vekens from Paderborn, with whom Erling Haaland junior will also be lined up. And not only him. The Mieleszko-Vekens station also produced the champion stallion in the riding pony class, Ally Pally by A kind of Magic-Adoro-Go for Gold.

A total of five dressage stallions were registered, two of which were not presented. The other two also received a positive approval. The first was So Amazing Hart Bekate, a Holsteiner by So Perfect-Dolany-Lorentin bred by Natalie and Holger Wesselmann in Hitzhusen and exhibited by Harthorses GmbH in Reinheim. On the other hand, the Dutch-bred Westphalian Ferrari Gold by Flashbang-Vitalis-Hotline received a positive approval.

The Vitalis-Hotline pedigree is a real eye-opener, especially after last weekend, when a young stallion with this pedigree was named reserve champion at the KWPN licensing. The young stallion in question, named Vamos Junior, who will be working at the van Olst station, is in fact a full brother to Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour’s team world champion and individual silver medal winner from Herning 2022, Vamos Amigos. And Ferrari Gold is a nephew. His dam is a sister to Vamos Amigos.

The licensing candidate named best show jumper is a Westphalian named LP Vantastique bred by Edgar Langen in Remagen and presented by ZG Langer/Popp in Steimbke. Vantastique is a son of the Belgian 1.60 meter jumping stallion Vatson Sitte by Cardento, who is stabled at the Völz station. On the dam’s side, the pedigree continues with Crumble and Zirocco Blue.

There was also a premium for Chacoon Charly, another OS-registered son of Chacoon Blue out of a Colander-Quick Star dam, bred by Marwin Schweinsberg. The exhibitor here – as with the Vamos Amigos nephew from the dressage camp – was Arthur Verbroekken from the Netherlands.

The three other licensed stallions were Poker de Miraculix AE by Poker de Mariposa-Duke of Hearts xx-Casall (breeder and rider: Albert Engenolf), Casallero DT by Casallco-Ustinov-Chico’s Boy (breeder and rider: Dana Teepe) and an as yet unnamed Westphalian by Cristallo I-Conceicao-Pilot (breeder: Josef Weritz, rider: KR Pferdesport GmbH).
