With the nine-year-old Heros Z, he came second in the qualifier for the Grand Prix on Friday and sixth in the World Cup show jumping competition on Sunday. National coach Otto Becker then decided that this pair has so much potential that they belong in the squad. The squad is now made up as follows:
- Sandra Auffarth with Quirici H
- Hans-Dieter Dreher with Elysium
- Katrin Eckermann with Chao Lee, Iron Dames Dialou Blue PS
- Michael Jung with fischerHeros Z
- Jörne Sprehe with Sprehe Hot Easy
- Mario Stevens with Starissa
- André Thieme with DSP Chakaria
- Maximilian Weihaupt with Zuccero HV
Michael Jung’s Hors La Loi II grandson was born in 2017 as Heros van de Windelsteen Z at Peter Hofman in Maaseik, Belgium. He belongs to Michael Jung himself. The gelding had his first competition outings as a five-year-old with Jung’s stable rider Sven Lux. In 2023, Jung was in the saddle himself for the first time. The World Cup show jumping competition in Leipzig was the first 1.60 meter show jumping competition with jump-off for the nine-year-old gelding. He has already placed well once over 1.55 meters in Geneva.
Michael Jung is still a member of the eventing championship squad.
